Designed to achieve organic shapes with greater control and repeatability.
The Nido Set brings together two MDF ceramic molds, sizes L and M, along with our adjustable DEMOLDE Base, to create oval, organic, and gently irregular pieces using the slab building technique.
A wide and versatile shape, designed to create bowls, plates, trays, and functional pieces while maintaining the character of handmade work.
The same base can be used with all of our DEMOLDE molds.

Nido is born from an oval form taken toward the organic. Its soft lines and ample proportions allow for creating functional pieces with a silhouette different from a traditional oval.
The mold's irregularity provides a guide for building the shape without fully defining the result. You can modify edges, add handles, intervene on the surface, or incorporate your own details to make each piece unique.
Ideal for creating bowls, plates, trays, serving pieces, and decorative objects in various sizes.
1. Prepare your slab
Work with a fresh clay slab approximately 5–7 mm thick, adjusting it according to the clay type and the size of the piece.
2. Shape your piece
Place the slab over the clean, dry mold. Gently guide the clay with your hands so it takes the shape, avoiding excessive pressure.
3. Demold and let dry
Depending on the clay and environmental conditions, demolding may take approximately 5–20 minutes. Remove the piece when it is firm enough to hold its shape.
Continue drying slowly under plastic to help prevent warping or cracking.
DEMOLDE molds are made of 25 mm MDF and designed to facilitate working with clay slabs.
Always use the mold clean and dry. Do not leave the piece drying on the MDF for extended periods, as the material will continue to absorb moisture.
For subsequent drying, we recommend separating the piece from the surface using small supports or taking advantage of the height of the DEMOLDE Base to promote more even air circulation.
DEMOLDE molds function as a starting point. They provide consistency in shape and simplify the process, leaving room for each ceramicist to intervene, transform, and bring the piece into their own language.

Tips and care
No special preparation is required. Use a clean and completely dry mold before starting work.
We recommend working with slabs approximately 5 to 7 mm thick. The thickness can be adjusted depending on the type of clay, the size of the piece, and the desired result.
The time required will depend on the type of clay and environmental conditions. As a general guide, the piece can be removed from the mold approximately 5 to 20 minutes after you begin working on it. The key is for the clay to have become firm enough to hold its shape upon removal. Avoid leaving it on the MDF for too long, as the material absorbs moisture from the clay.
We do not recommend letting the piece dry completely on the mold. Once the clay has enough structure to hold its shape, remove the piece from the mold and continue with a slow, controlled drying process.
Remove any clay residue with a slightly damp cloth and let the mold dry completely before storing it.
Do not submerge the mold in water or wash it directly under the tap.
Store them completely dry, protected from moisture and away from direct sunlight. To store multiple molds, we recommend using an upright dish rack, leaving space between them to allow for air circulation. They can also be stored horizontally on a flat surface, provided they are completely dry.
No. We do not recommend applying sealants, varnishes, or waterproofing products to the MDF. The material's ability to absorb some of the moisture from the clay is crucial for easy demolding. Waterproofing the surface causes this property to be lost, potentially making it more difficult to remove the piece from the mold.
